If you already know what you want, simply go to our Contact Us page and complete the enquiry form; or email us and we'll gladly give you a quote. If you wish to place the order, we'll simply email you an invoice with payment details, to place your 50% deposit and reserve your date. 3. How much notice do you need to make my cake?

Our lead time is usually 2 months but in Spring/Summer, we can be booked out 3-4 months in advanced. If you allow 2-3 months notice we can usually fit you in, however, we may be able to accommodate short notice orders, depending on our schedule, so please be sure to ask!

Please bear in mind that sugar flowers and figurines are all hand crafted items, so please allow plenty of time for us to create all the little details we meticulously love to do!

(Please remember that we do not hold/reserve dates without a deposit.) {go back to the top}

4. How much are your cakes and why should I reveal my budget?

There are many factors affect the overall price of a cake including size, shape, complexity of techniques and materials used. Your budget helps us determine what to design for you, because there's no point in designing a cake you really love, only to find out that it's well over your budget. It would be a waste of our time and yours.

If you don't have a budget or are not sure, that's fine too! We can suggest a few options for a range of budgets and work with you from there.

We have also included prices in our cake gallery to give you an idea on what to expect for each cake. Please note that most prices shown, are for the smallest size available and might not be the size that's pictured. We are happy to modify any design to suit your style and event. More information about what we charge can also be found on our Price Guide. {go back to the top}

5. Do I need to choose a design from your portfolio? Cake Sketches

Not at all! We would love to create a new design for you, from ideas and inspirations you may have. Any cake from our portfolio or from other ideas you have in mind, can be used as inspiration and customised to suit your style, taste and budget. We encourage and prefer not to copy designs, so that your cake is unique for your event! {go back to the top}

6. Do you have face to face consults?

Face to face consults have been discontinued simply because our clients have not needed them! Most of our clients work full time and with so much to organise, we understand your time is precious.

Any information you could provide at a face to face, could just as easily be emailed to us, in the comfort of your own home and at any time convenient to you, making your experience comfortable and stress free. We've had brides email us their wedding inspiration boards, dress designs, colour swatches, cake pictures, flower and bouquet pictures, invitations and even lace designs they'd like matched! Nothing is impossible and inspiration can come from anywhere!

You'll also have a full record of all our emails and vice versa, so nothing will be missed on either end! It's your wedding cake and we believe you shouldn't be rushed to make a decision in a one hour appointment. We also understand that your wedding is an important event, so you need time to absorb information, think things through and compare quotes before you can commit to any design. Our design process, allows you to do just that!

Most emails are responded to, within 12 hours and some, within 24 hours...you will find that this is much faster and more efficient, than booking in and waiting for a consult appointment!! And if you have a quick question to ask, you can also give us a call! {go back to the top}

7. What about fresh flowers?

Yes, we can make cakes with fresh flowers and depending on the type of flowers you require, we may be able to source them for you from our local florist. We are also happy to liaise with your florist and order flowers directly from them, or we can prepare the cake and leave it up to your florist! We are flexible and it's your decision!

Please be aware that wires and stems should never be inserted directly into cakes; we use special flower picks that are food safe. Certain flowers are also toxic and may contain pesticides which are not recommended for cakes. Your florist should be able to advise you further, but these are some flowers that are considered toxic: Anemones, Calla & Arum Lilies, Flame Lilies, Hyacinths, Hydrangeas, Lily Of The Valley, Oriental Lilies.

If the flowers you want are toxic, please consider having sugar flowers instead, or we can create a foam dummy cake for your flowers to be displayed on. {go back to the top}

8. Do you deliver and where to?

Yes, we personally deliver all our cakes throughout the Sydney Metropolitan Area and the Blue Mountains, up to Lithgow. Delivery charges vary, depending on the distance from our base so please contact us for a free quote. For wedding cakes and larger celebration cakes that require assembly, we will gladly contact your venue to arrange delivery and set up times on your behalf. {go back to the top}

9. How will my cake be packaged?

Small, single tiered cakes will be delivered in waxed pastry boxes and depending on the height of the decorations, the box supplied may not have a lid.

Large novelty cakes and stacked wedding cakes, will not be delivered in boxes. We transport these larger cakes in custom made wooden boxes to keep your cake clean and safe, so it arrives at your venue in pristine condition. Once your cake is delivered and set up, we are no longer responsible for packaging and transporting your cake home. If you would like us to supply a cake box for you to take any left over cake home, this can be arranged upon request for an additional fee. {go back to the top}

10. How should I store my cakes once I receive it? David Austin Sugar Rose and Snowberries

All our cakes and cupcakes are covered with rolled fondant and should not be stored in the fridge as this causes condensation and colours will run. An air conditioned room is best and once the cake is cut, it can be refrigerated for up to one week.

Since all our cakes are baked fresh for your event and not pre-frozen, you will be able to freeze any left-overs for up to 2 months. Remove any decorations you wish to keep, cut your cake into individual portions, then double wrap in cling film and foil. {go back to the top}

11. How should I store my sugar flowers and figurines?

Sugar flowers and figurines should not be refrigerated or frozen. They can be stored wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a small cardboard box with a few sachets of silica crystals. They will keep indefinitely, if kept away from moisture, heat and sunlight. If your figurines comes with a spike or pick, these can be cut off or pushed into a styrofoam block before storage.

Some of our clients prefer to display their precious handmade keepsakes under glass domes...some fading is expected but they do keep quite well and look beautiful on display for all to enjoy. If you are having trouble finding glass domes, please let us know and we'd be happy to recommend a few places that stock them for you. {go back to the top}

12. Can I buy your sugar flowers or figurines only?

Sorry, our sugar flowers and figurines are designed and created exclusively for our cakes and are not sold separately. {go back to the top}
